It’s a money monsoon across the Grand Canyon State
PHOENIX (October 2, 2019) – It may have been more of a “nonsoon” than a monsoon this year in the Grand Canyon State, but the Arizona Lottery made it rain in September with almost a dozen big winners, making four new millionaires - two on the same day! On September 18th, a Queen Creek player purchased a $1 Million dollar Powerball winning ticket and another player hit The Pick jackpot for a cool $3.1 Million in Scottsdale.
Those winners are just the tip of the haboob as we’ve seen multiple The Pick Jackpot winners, $1 Million and $50,000 Powerball winners, along with $10,000 Mega Millions winners who total more than $6.5 million in high-tier prizes.

Adding up all the prizes paid to all our September winners, Arizona Lottery players took home more than $50 Million, totaling over $157.7 Million just three months into fiscal year 2020!
“Making so many Arizona millionaires in a single month, two of them on the same day, is incredible,” Executive Director of the Arizona Lottery Gregg Edgar said. “Add to that the more than $100 million in prizes won by our players over the opening months of this fiscal year and our whole state wins with the millions returned to our beneficiaries and to the economy.”
Arizona Lottery ticket sales fund more than a dozen vital programs across our state, including higher education infrastructure built and maintained by the Board of Regents, habitat purchased through the Heritage Fund to protect and promote our unique and iconic wildlife, and the Court Appointed Special Advocates, or CASA, speaking in court for abused and neglected children. These are just a few of the 18 beneficiaries that receive hundreds of millions of Lottery dollars every year.
