VENDING MACHINE TICKET REDEMPTION INFORMATION

New Feature Live

The Quick Reference Guide will walk you through the process of how your Lottery customers can redeem winning tickets of $300 or less at Arizona Lottery vending machines, a new feature on PlayCentral HD, HD-S, LP and EX vending machines. Understanding this process will help you address player inquiries effectively. View additional Retailer FAQs below.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Q: What is the new vending machine ticket redemption feature?

A: Arizona Lottery vending machines will now allow players to redeem winning tickets of $300 or less for machine credit to purchase more tickets directly from the same machine. This feature launches on August 7, 2025, for all game types on all vending machines except Instant Tabs and Instant Tab machines.

Q: How does vending machine redemption work for players?

A: When a player scans winning tickets of $300 or less, the machine will display the winning amount and offer two options: redeem as machine credit or redeem later at a retail location. If the player chooses machine credit, the full winning amount is added as credit on the machine for immediate ticket purchases in the same transaction. The machine credit cannot exceed $599 at any time.

Q: Can players get cash or a voucher for winnings redeemed at a vending machine?

A: No. Winnings redeemed at vending machines are issued as machine credit only for immediate ticket purchases. Vending machines do not dispense cash or issue credit vouchers for any unused machine credit.

Q: Do players have to use the full machine credit in one transaction?

A: Yes. The full machine credit amount must be used in a single transaction to purchase lottery tickets from the same vending machine. The machine does not give change or print vouchers for unused credit. Any unused credit will be forfeited.

Q: What should retailers tell players who inquire about vending machine redemptions?

A: Inform players that winning tickets of $300 or less can be redeemed for machine credit at participating vending machines for immediate ticket purchases. Emphasize that no cash or vouchers are issued, and the credit must be used in one transaction on that machine. For winning tickets over $300, players must redeem their tickets at a retail location or claim center.

Q: What if a player uses machine credit but doesn't use the full amount?

A: Any remaining machine credit after the transaction is complete will not be refunded or issued as a voucher. The player will not receive any additional tickets or cash back.

Q: Can all vending machines redeem winning tickets?

A: With the exception of Instant Tab machines, all Arizona Lottery vending machines will be able to redeem winning tickets up to $300 starting on August 7, 2025.

Q: What about winning tickets over $300?

A: Winning tickets exceeding $300 cannot be redeemed at vending machines and must be redeemed at an authorized Arizona Lottery retailer or claim center following standard procedures.

Q: Where can retailers and players find more information?

A: More information will be available on the Arizona Lottery website. An instructional video will also be available on YouTube, the Arizona Lottery website, and the Arizona Lottery Players Club. Retailers can also contact their Lottery representative for additional information.
