Named as one of the best public-facing government IT projects in the nation
Sacramento, CA (September 24, 2020) The Center for Digital Government (CDG) today announced the Arizona Lottery as a winner of their fourth annual Government Experience Awards. The awards recognize the achievements and best practices of states, cities and counties that are radically improving the experience of government and pushing the boundaries of how citizen services are delivered. The Arizona Lottery took home the State Government Experience Award for improvements made to their website and Players Club website and mobile app to better serve citizens.
“Our state and local government winners this year demonstrated that focusing on the government experience provides a foundation that played a vital role in responding and adapting to the uncertainties and disruptions of 2020,” said Dustin Haisler, Chief Innovation Officer for the Center for Digital Government. “This year’s winners employed innovative methods and technologies to transform their government…infusing digital services enterprise-wide for both internal and citizen-facing services.”
The Arizona Lottery’s improvements to their public-facing website allowed the Lottery to better serve the citizens of Arizona, by allowing them to better understand Lottery games and more fully participate in second chance promotions with even more chances to win with the Players Club app! Working with vendor partners, RIESTER and Pollard Banknote Limited, the Arizona Lottery’s mobile-first approach saw load speeds dramatically improve and customer service capabilities climb, and the recent relaunch of the Players Club app is providing a more robust user interface with ticket scanning capabilities and built-in logic to identify if tickets are eligible for second chance promotions.
"The Arizona Lottery is dedicated to delivering a winning customer experience to our players and the community we serve," said Executive Director of the Arizona Lottery, Gregg Edgar. “Our commitment to excellence and innovation in the improvement of our customer’s experience, when they use our website and Players Club app directly, supports our ability to drive impact for the people of Arizona."
