Arizona Lottery Hits $1B Milestone in Record-time For Current Fiscal Year Sales

Ranks Among the Top in the Nation in Year-Over-Year Growth

PHOENIX – The Arizona Lottery officially surpassed $1B in total sales for the current fiscal year in February, representing a +15.8% increase year-to-date compared to the prior fiscal year. This marks the fastest pace the Arizona Lottery has reached the $1 billion milestone since FY23, when the Lottery closed with a record-breaking $1.5 billion in total sales, surpassing the previous record by five days.

Entering the final quarter of FY26, the Lottery continues to see strong momentum across its game portfolio and remains on track for another year of record breaking revenue for public benefit in Arizona.

From an industry standpoint, the Arizona Lottery ranks among the top-performing lotteries in the nation and continues to outperform broader industry trends, particularly in the Instant Ticket category.

The Arizona Lottery has demonstrated significant resilience in the instant ticket category, exceeding national benchmarks across multiple key metrics. In 2025, Arizona’s Instant Weekly Per Capita (WPC) sales grew by +4%, compared to a -2.7% decline across the total U.S. market.

Building on a +33% growth spike in 2020, Arizona has sustained long-term strength, with 2025 growth (+4%) continuing to outperform both the Top 10 lotteries (-0.5%) and the total U.S. market (-2.7%).

This momentum extends into the current fiscal year, with total sales up +4.1% through February 21, 2026, driven in part by a +46.4% increase in multi-state lottery games.

Arizona’s performance is particularly notable given that the Lottery has not introduced any new price points during the current fiscal year, which often drive temporary periods of growth. The Arizona Lottery's growth can largely be attributed to  key initiatives to optimize retail merchandising and ticket distribution, the strength of its existing product mix, disciplined portfolio strategy, and execution across retail and marketing channels. We have made significant strides in expanding vending machines at retailers, rolling out digital menu boards, and introducing a new brand platform, Love The Play™.

“Arizona is leading the nation for instant ticket sales growth, and combined with high draw sales in Q2, we’re on track to invest in Arizona communities like never before, said Alec Thomson, Arizona Lottery Executive Director. Reaching the $1 billion milestone at this point is a result of our focus on optimizing our operations, increasing support for our valued retail partners, and our work to reimagine how we engage new and longtime players in our products and our mission. Our innovative approach to delivering the lottery experience is resonating with our players and retailers alike and that’s a win for every Arizonan.”

With the fiscal year still underway, the Arizona Lottery remains focused on sustaining momentum and building on this strong foundation through the remainder of the year.
